Just got back from a few days of golf and wine in Napa Valley. We stopped by Domaine Carneros and tasted some delicious Pinot Noirs. The Avant-Garde is a young, fruity wine while the Domaine Carneros-Estate is a bigger wine with notes of black cheery, raspberry, toast and chocolate. We also had The Famous Gate Pinot, their original Pinot dating production back to 1992. This wine seemed a tad light to me but offered smoky and dark cherry flavors. We also tried a nice Merlot that has limited production and can only be sold at the winery. And I shot an 81 at Chardonnay Golf Course which winds through a vineyard. Free drop if you hit it in the Vineyard....which I did not!
Cheers all.
